Borrego is a romaine variety that offers several notable characteristics. Borrego exhibits medium bolting tolerance and is bushy stunt resistant. This variety features a dark-green plant color with a yellow interior and has an excellent thick leaf texture, contributing to its strong shipping quality. This variety also presents smooth, solid midribs and smooth leaf petioles with good fringe burn tolerance. Additionally, Borrego offers added weight compared to most other romaine types, and its heart maturity is medium. Borrego is suitable for both hearts and fresh markets, providing exceptional quality and increased weight.
