Huerta Red is a Non-Heading red leaf with a frilly leaf margin, high leaf
count and high resistance to internal Tip-Burn. The frame size is larger than Red
Tide, having better Bolting and Tip Burn resistance than most red leafs. Its leaf
structure is slightly narrow with slightly longer leaf length. Huerta Red’s slightly
green exterior resembles more of the Red Tide leaf color with a slightly more
saved leaf surface. The weight is also similar to that of Red Tide. This variety is
adapted to all extreme hot growing areas, Salinas Valley, San Joaquin Valley
and Yuma areas.
